We want to serve as a resource for our ladies and consider it a privilege to pray regularly for you. If you have a special need or would like to share a prayer request (open or confidential) please contact our team by email or reach out to any of our team members individually. We are honored to partner with you in service to our Lord!
Connecting & Gathering
Around the Table
Creating connections as our women share a simple meal and gospel-centered conversation. Six women enjoying two hours around one table! New dates and times are available every month to build community with a new mix of ladies each time. With rotating hostesses and participants, you never know who you might meet or get to know better over a meal or coffee. To sign up, visit our lobby table the last two Sundays of each month. If you can’t sign up in person, email women@gashland.org or call Lisa Miller at 816-813-1236 for a list of the upcoming dates and to sign up.
Contemplating Advent
Women’s Ministry now alternates its Christmas ministries. Each year we will celebrate with the larger Christmas tea or our Contemplating Advent: A Meditative Experience. This year will be the latter. Our second Advent stations chapel experience can be enjoyed at your leisure in the chapel during the month of December, alone or with a friend. Look for details closer to time!
Apples of Gold | Seasonal Encouragement
Proverbs 25:11 tells us that “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.” This ministry pairs up women who would like to be encouraged or have a heart to encourage (or both!) through notes, text, emails, phone calls, etc. Kind of like a “secret pal” but not done in secret! Watch the Link for more information and sign-up opportunities in early 2022.
2nd Saturday Coffee Hour
For those that are busy during the week but still seek out shorter, casual, gospel centered fellowship, join us for 2nd Saturday Coffee. Bring your favorite breakfast beverage, and come enjoy light snacks, friends, and a short gospel conversation at 9 am in the Fellowship Hall every 2nd Saturday of the month.
Equipping
Glimpses of Gospel Grace
This event is a quarterly opportunity where women are equipped to approach life’s challenges through a gospel perspective by providing tools through reading, discussion, and sharing. Jesus promised we’d encounter various troubles in life, and these difficulties often reveal our fears, weaknesses, and doubts. These challenges may involve our marriages, families, physical or spiritual health. Yet through Jesus we have received grace upon grace. Grace that offers comfort for our deepest and often hidden pain, strength when we feel burnt out or battered down, and healing for relational wounds. Be on the lookout for Link announcements about this event in the coming months! Contact Deb Michaud (deb.michaud@crossworld.org) with any questions.
Women’s Sunday School Class | Every Sunday
Laura Cooper leads this group, which meets at 9:45 am every Sunday in rooms 217-218. The Women’s Sunday school class offers women a time to study God’s Word together and grow spiritually while also creating opportunities for fellowship and building friendships with other Christian women. The fall semester will be covering the life of Joseph.

Newcomers are welcome as each study in the series can be done independently. This is an in-depth study with homework each week. Join us and learn the joy of studying Scripture for yourself. Each study has a separate cost for materials; cost for the first study is $22. This class will begin Monday, September 12th from 6-7:30pm, with another class offering beginning Thursday, September 15, 1:15-2:45 pm. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall. Bible Study Fellowship
BSF is an international, interdenominational, multicultural, and multigenerational Bible study. The KC Northland Day Women’s Class (which includes preschool classes, ages 0-kindergarten) will meet from 9:40 to 11:15 on Thursday mornings, beginning September 8th. This year’s study is People of the Promise: Kingdom Divided. This study will unpack a fascinating period in Israel’s history across 15 books, from its split into two nations, through dozens of kings and prophets and ultimately to the heartbreaking exile into Babylon. There is no charge for the lessons; by faith, BSF depends on the generous contributions of class members. Please contact Cheryl Sanders at cheryl.j.sanders@sbcglobal.net or go to bsfinternational.org for registration and/or more information.
Evening Gathering
This is a weekly group of women that meets to have fellowship, biblical discussion and prayer time. Group meets for 8 weeks with a different study each semester, beginning this fall on September 12th. This fall they will be discussing Unseen: The Gift of Being Hidden in a World that Loves to be Noticed. Sarah Hagerty exposes the beauty of abiding in the unseen and unrecognized. Exposing our need to long for the praise of God instead of craving the praise of man. Women can do the weekly reading and study guide, or just show up. Gathering time is 7:00-9:00 pm Monday nights in the chapel. Contact Heather Lorenzetti (1-816-835-2812) with any questions.
