How Has God Gifted You, Part 1 | Experience Assessment

There is often a correlation between Christian experiences and spiritual gifts. This assessment explores personal experiences that might indicate which specific gifts you are most and least likely to have. If you have not served before, then you will identify which of your behaviors most approximate the behaviors of those who have certain gifts. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Read each of the 51 questions on the Spiritual Gifts questionnaire. For each question, respond with either: "This has been experienced in my life much/some/little/not at all"

or

“If given the opportunity I would want to do this much/some/little/not at all" and check the appropriate box of Much, Some, Little or None. 2. As you respond to the questions, please consider each in light of the following:
  • Answer according to who you are, not who you would like to be or think you should be.
  • How true of you are these statements?
  • What has been your experience?
  • To what degree do these statements reflect your tendencies?

How Has God Wired You | Trait Assessment

Your Personal Style is your "personality" or "temperament." Three truths about Personal Style:
  1. Personal Style is God-given.
  2. There is no right or wrong Personal Style.  Personal Styles are just different.
  3. Personal Style answers the question: “How can I best serve?”
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because l am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

Psalm 139:13-16

Directions
  1. Read each statement and select the number along the continuum that best describes what you would prefer to do or be. If you have a strong preference, select a 1 or 5. If it is moderate, select a 2 or 4. Remember, there is no right or wrong response.
  2. Do NOT answer according to what you feel is expected by a spouse, family member, church leader, or employer.
  3. Select the behavior or perspective that would come most naturally to you if you knew there were no restrictions or consequences for your personal expression.

What Ministy Passions Has God Given You

In the shortened version of re:Shape Today, we simply ask you to consider which of the following ministries you are passionate about  and select them below.  Please read the descriptions and pick two categories below.

Worship Ministries: These ministries may involve singing, playing an instrument, planning services, participating in readings, helping with special services (Lent and Advent), praying with people at the end of services, putting up themed decorations, etc.

Outreach Ministries: These ministries focus on getting the Gospel outside the walls of our church in various ways like, outreach events (Trunk or Treat, VBS, KampOut, etc.), evangelism, local community partnerships (City Union Mission, Rachael House, Hillcrest, etc.), neighborhood service (Gashland Elementary, prayer walk in surrounding neighborhoods, etc.)

Relationship Connection Ministries: These ministries connect people to one another and to the local church.  These ministries focus on the fellowship of the church in ways like special fellowship nights at the church (Game Night, Church Picnic, Valentine's Dance), small groups, etc.  These ministries also connect people to the church in ministries like Getting to Know Gashland/New Member's Class, re:Shape, pictorial directory, etc.

Discipleship Ministries:  These ministries focus on the education and growth of members at Gashland in areas like Sunday school classes, student ministry, children's ministry, life long discipleship plan, Bible readings, library resources, church wide prayer oversight, etc.

Administration Ministries: These ministries focus on the administrative needs of the church like personnel, policies and procedures, insurance issues, staff development, denominational involvement, as well as keeping all of the other ministries coordinated with one another to carry out a common vision.

Mercy Ministries: These ministries focus on meeting the needs of those in our church who are in financial, emotional or physical need including ministries like Mercy Fund, Building Bridges, Compassion Meals, Memorial Meals, HelpNet, hearing assistant during services, as well as helping to meet the needs of those who walk in off the streets.

Help Ministries: These ministries allow the church to carry out their different callings by meeting the physical needs such events require.  Help Ministries include chair team, Sunday morning coffee team, Conversations setup and meal, greeters, etc.

Finance Ministries: These ministries are involved in the administrative components of finance oversight like the budget creation, understanding of day-to-day spending and account status, counting Sunday morning offerings, making financial recommendations to the elders, etc.

Property Ministries: These ministries oversee the property of Gashland and note facility condition, while carrying out improvements/maintenance, as well as responding to needs ministries require of the buildings and grounds.

Share your results with Ministry Teams?*
The Ministry Teams of our church are often in need of people from the Gashland Family who are gifted and willing to serve. Clicking "YES" will NOT require you to serve... but instead, would share your results with them to see if there might be an area (small or big) that could be a good fit. This would help the Ministry Team, as well as potentially be a fulfilling place to use your gifts. Again, this is not required, but it is a good way to start the process of understanding where you might fit in the ministries of Gashland.

FINAL STEP

To finish the report, please click "Submit". This will begin a calculations process which may take up to 45 seconds to determine your results.
