GEPC Part-Time Social Media and Website Administrator (10-15 Hours/Week)
Gashland Evangelical Presbyterian Church is seeking a creative Part-Time Social Media and Website Administrator to manage and enhance our online presence, reflecting our vision to Love Jesus, live as family, and look to the fields. This role, which reports to the Assistant Pastor, will be responsible for developing and implementing social media and website strategies that foster community, promote church events and initiatives, and share the message of the Gospel with a wider audience. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a passion for digital communication and a strong understanding of social media platforms and website management.
Responsibilities:
- Website Administration:
- Maintain and update the church website.
- Ensure website content is accurate, current, and engaging.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues in a timely manner.
- Optimize website for mobile and search engines (SEO).
- Implement website design updates and improvements as needed using a church supplied application.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Develop and curate engaging content (text, images, videos) for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X) and the church website.
- Create and maintain a social media and website content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting/updates.
- Utilize appealing graphics and video content.
- Write compelling captions and posts that reflect the church’s voice and mission.
- Manage and respond to comments and messages on social media in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure the proper releases and authorizations are received before posting images on social media or the church website.
- Community Engagement:
- Foster online community engagement through interactive posts and polls on social media.
- Monitor social media trends and engage with relevant online conversations.
- Encourage and facilitate online discussions related to church events and teachings.
- Build relationships with online followers and create a welcoming online environment.
- Event Promotion and Coverage:
- Promote church events, services, and activities through social media and the church website.
- Provide coverage of church events (e.g., services, events, workshops, conferences) through social media updates and website content.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze social media and website metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, follower growth, website traffic) using analytics tools.
- Generate regular reports on social media and website performance and provide insights for improvement.
- Monitor online sentiment, and alert leadership to potential issues.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to gather content and promote church initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with church leadership regarding social media and website strategies and performance.
- Stay up to date on social media trends, best practices, and website management.
- Ensure all social media and website content is consistent with the church’s brand and messaging.
- Video and Live Streaming:
- Edit and upload video content to platforms like YouTube and the church website.
- Create short form video content for social media engagement.
- Other:
- Responsible for other tasks as assigned by church staff.
Qualifications:

- Understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X) and their algorithms.
- Experience updating and managing websites preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging and visually appealing content for both web and social media.
- Experience with using design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with social media and website analytics tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
