Interim Weekend Facility Manager

Reports To: Church Office Staff / Personnel Committee

Hours: 10–15 hours per week (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday)

Compensation: $13.75/hour

Overview: We are looking for a reliable and proactive individual to serve as our Interim Weekend Facility Manager for the summer. This role is vital in ensuring our church building is open, safe, welcoming, and ready for ministry and events that take place over the weekend. The right candidate will take pride in maintaining our space and will work closely with the church staff to help make weekends run smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Unlock and lock the building at the beginning and end of scheduled events and services.
  • Open specific interior rooms based on event and meeting schedules.
  • Coordinate with the front office staff during the week to understand the weekend schedule.
  • Ensure the building is ready for Sunday morning services (lights, temperature, restrooms stocked, trash removed, etc.).
  • Greet and assist people as they arrive, helping them find the correct rooms or spaces.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment. Wipe counters, clean glass, manage spills, and general upkeep as needed.
  • Take out trash and restock restroom supplies throughout the weekend.
  • Be present and attentive during events and meetings. Not simply remaining idle.
  • Have situational awareness: recognize when something is wrong (security issue, broken item, etc.) and take appropriate action, whether that’s contacting staff, emergency services, or handling the issue directly.
  • Must be comfortable walking up and down stairs and able to physically perform basic cleaning and maintenance tasks.
