Women’s Night of Worship | August 23rd
Women of Gashland – Join us on Sunday, August 23rd, in the sanctuary as we worship, the theme is Your Word is a Lamp Unto My Feet. Hear from our own Holly Marshall, and share fall Bible study opportunities from 6:30-7:45 PM, followed by fellowship over refreshments from 7:45-8:30 PM. Let’s kick off the new year of study, worshipping our God who illuminates our path through His Word together!
Outreach Leadership Opportunity
This fall, we will be launching a special church-wide initiative focused on sharing the Gospel and inviting people into the life of our church. Before we launch, we are looking for men and women who would be willing to help lead outreach efforts and encourage others in evangelism by going door to door in our community.

Save the date - Mother/Son Superhero Adventure
Our next family discipleship event will be a Superhero adventure afternoon for moms and sons. We will be hosting this on Saturday, September 26 from 1:00 – 3:00pm in the Worship Center. This is for boys ages 4 through 5th grade and their mom, grandma, aunt or any other special mother-like figure! The cost will be $15 per family and $5 for each additional adult. An official invitation with information on how to register will follow but in the meantime please mark your calendars for an afternoon of fun activities and fellowship! If you have a grandson or nephew who doesn’t attend Gashland we’d still love to have you join us!
Parent Partnership Meeting
All Little Lambs and Children's Ministries parents are invited to a parent meeting on Sunday, August 30th during the Sunday school hour (9:45-10:45). At this meeting, we will discuss the vision and heart of our ministries, safety and logistics, curriculum, home discipleship resources, and more. Please mark your calendar and plan to join us in the chapel!
Endowment Fund Minute: We Dit It!
The Finance Team in early January, listed several goals they wanted to accomplish in 2026. One of the primary goals was for the GPC Endowment Fund to reach $125,000 by December 31, 2026. Well, it only took five months as the fund closed May at $126,715. In June we backed up the May performance ending the second quarter (6/30/26) at
$126,990.
Ending the quarter above $125,000 triggered the fund to start generating “spendable dollars” each quarter. The spendable dollars that the fund will generate is based on a government formula that takes the 12-quarter moving average to create an annual 4% 'spendable' allocation. The calculations are done each quarter at a 1% rate. The 9/30/26 value of the fund will be added to the 12 quarter moving average and the 9/30/23 fund value will be dropped from the average. This process will be repeated four times a year and the spendable dollars generated each quarter can be spent by the governing body (Deacons, Elders or Team) for a specific project, or banked for
a period of time before being spent. I have been told more than once over the past six years that contributing to the Endowment Fund was throwing money into a black hole. Well, with excellent investment strategy and timely contributions, the fund will now generate spendable dollars four times a year for the foreseeable future. The fund will continue to earn investment interest and any contributions by the congregation will make the spendable dollars continue to grow. Thank you Gashland!

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS
Outreach Collection for August - Gashland & Clardy Elementary Schools
Discipleship Groups (DGs) are starting again this Fall during Wednesday Night Family Fellowship - a weekly opportunity to share a meal together as a church family before breaking into our various ministries, including Little Lambs, Kids Quest, Student Ministries, Sermon-Based Discussion, and Discipleship Groups.
DGs provide a consistent opportunity to read God's Word in the context of relational community. The heart of each group is life-on-life discipleship as you encourage one another by sharing what God has been teaching you through your personal time in Scripture during the week. To help guide your daily time with the Lord, we provide a Bible Reading Plan (we'll be reading through a Old Testament this year) along with a Scripture Reading Journal.
Each DG consists of 4–5 men or women who meet together every Wednesday evening (except during holidays and winter/summer breaks) throughout the ministry year (9 Months - Fall, Winter, and Spring). As you faithfully gather around God's Word, you'll develop deep friendships, pray for one another, speak gospel truth into one another's lives, bear one another's burdens, and encourage one another to follow Christ more faithfully and participate in His mission of making disciples. 2026 Fall Church Retreat
Join us for our 2026 Fall Church Retreat at God's Mountain Christian Camp (just 45 minutes away) for a weekend of worship, biblical teaching, fellowship, and fun for the whole family, with childcare available during the sessions for infants through 5th grade. Rev. Stephen Morefield will lead us in exploring the hope of Heaven, addressing questions like, "What happens when I die?", "What will we do in heaven?", and "How should we live as we wait?" Full-weekend registration (4 meals, snacks, and activities) is $50 per adult and $25 per child, or join us Saturday only (3 meals, snacks, and activities) for $30 per adult and $15 per child.
