Calling all men of Gashland to attend the Stand Firm Conference with Pastor Joby Martin. Over two days, we will be challenged to stand up with courage, stand apart in purity, and stand firm in faith - anchored in the truth of God's Word. The event will take place on Friday, October 30th (5-9PM) and Saturday, October 31 (7AM - 2PM) at Abundant Life Church in Lee's Summit, MO. Now Hiring: Communications Coordinator
Do you have a gift for communication and creativity and a desire to serve the local church? Gashland is seeking a part-time Communications Coordinator (approximately 6 hours/week) to help us communicate clearly, connect with our community, and grow our online presence through social media, promotional materials, and website content.
It is OCC time again! Shoeboxes and labels with instructions will be available starting October 4th. Boxes will be available all month. This ministry is part of Samaritan's Purse. You can check their website for information about this ministry. Please be in prayer for this ministry and the children and their families who will be blessed. Congregational Meeting | October 11
Join us on October 11th at 12:30pm for a congregational meeting in the ministry center. Our single agenda items will be a motion to request dismissal from the EPC. Please note: presbytery representatives will join us for this meeting, will have voice during the meeting, the motion will be discussed, but it will NOT be voted upon. Per Book of Order, the motion will be discussed and then recessed for 3-6 months.
The October 13th Morning Circle monthly meeting welcomes all women. Please join us in the study titled "Then They Met Jesus", at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. No preparation is required. This group shares a corporate prayer time of petitions and praises. Coffee and hot tea are provided. Martha Circle, a Scripture, Prayer and Fellowship Group open to all women, will meet Tuesday, October 13, 6:30-8:30 pm at the church. We will be studying 1 Samuel from the study book Choose your king written by Tim Chester. We will have a dessert to share. Please bring your own beverage. Eleos is having their Annual Thanksgiving Drive for Donations which will be distributed to folks on Saturday, November 21st at the Eleos Red Cedar Sanctuary Area and Parking Lot located at 3401 Independence Ave. KCMO. Many Eleos Clients find themselves in difficult situations and are in need of the following items: New and Gently Used Coats, (Especially kids and adult sizes large and up and Hillcrest Hope, Savers and Salvation Army Thrift Stores usually have a good selection to purchase from too) Hats, Gloves, Socks and Blankets. We will also be collecting 200 Cans of Green Beans which will be included with the Thanksgiving Meal Distribution. Donations can be placed in the Brown Mission Boxes located in the Upstairs Lobby or Downstairs in the Ministry Center's Lobby thru November 8th. Or ONE Sunday ONLY, Joyce Grady's Beige Van will be parked from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. on November 8th, in the East Parking Lot by the Patio for your dropping off your items. Complementarian Lunch | November 1st
In light of our session's recommendation to be dismissed into the Westminster Churches of America, there have been some discussions on the topic of Complementarianism. We would love to invite anyone who is interested to join us on November 1st after church to join us for a lunch discussion at 12:30pm in the chapel. There Pastor Michael Morefield will give an overview pastorally, theologically, and functionally of the topic and also give some time for questions.
