In every community there are children and families at a point of crisis, and they need some help. In those same communities, there are Christian people who care and want to take action and show Christ-like compassion to others. CarePortal is an online platform that connects vulnerable children to churches who are willing and able to give. Social workers uncover the needs, and then CarePortal makes local Christian churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. We (GEPC) have been part of the CarePortal network for the past several years, and we have helped many families. If you would like to learn more about this Outreach ministry that provides tangible, physical help to families/children in need, come to the upcoming special session that will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, 20 September at 9:45am (during the Sunday School hour). Also during that upcoming special session in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, 20 September at 9:45am (during the Sunday School hour), Josiah Durfee will be teaching us about an exciting new ministry initiative called “We Will Tell.” Now, please do not be confused. CarePortal and “We Will Tell” are not tied together. These are separate ministry initiatives.
Discipleship Groups (DGs) are starting again this Fall during Wednesday Night Family Fellowship. DGs provide a consistent opportunity to read God's Word in the context of relational community. The heart of each group is life-on-life discipleship as you encourage one another by sharing what God has been teaching you through your personal time in Scripture during the week. To help guide your daily time with the Lord, we provide a Bible Reading Plan (we'll be reading through a Old Testament this year) along with a Scripture Reading Journal.Please register by clicking the button below

Morning Circle | September 8
Tuesday, September 8, at 10:00am in Fellowship Hall. This group is tailored for "empty nesters" and beyond, but all women are welcome! We engage in Bible study and share a corporate prayer time. The study for this Fall, titled "Then They Met Jesus". No preparation is required. Coffee and hot tea are provided. Joint Service - Sunday, September 13
On Sunday, September 13th there will be a Joint Worship Service at 10:00 AM in the Ministry Center. No 8:30am worship or Sunday School. Little Lambs and Children’s church will be available during the service.
2026 Fall Church Retreat
Join us for our 2026 Fall Church Retreat at God's Mountain Christian Camp (just 45 minutes away) for a weekend of worship, biblical teaching, fellowship, and fun for the whole family, with childcare available during the sessions for infants through 5th grade. Rev. Stephen Morefield will lead us in exploring the hope of Heaven, addressing questions like, "What happens when I die?", "What will we do in heaven?", and "How should we live as we wait?" Full-weekend registration (4 meals, snacks, and activities) is $50 per adult and $25 per child, or join us Saturday only (3 meals, snacks, and activities) for $30 per adult and $15 per child. Enjoy time with your church family through swimming, sports, games, bonfires, and more in the beauty of God's creation. Registration is open August 2–30. Registration is open for the Mother-Son Superhero fun
Our Mother-Son Superhero Adventure will be on Saturday, September 26 from 1:00 – 3:00pm in the Worship Center. This is for boys ages 4 through 5th grade and their mom, grandma, aunt or any other special mother-like figure! The cost will be $15 per family and $5 for each additional adult. We hope you can join us for an afternoon of fun activities, creativity and fellowship! If you have a grandson or nephew who doesn’t attend Gashland we’d still love to have you join us! Martha Circle | September 8
Martha Circle, a Prayer and Fellowship Group open to all women, will meet Tuesday, September 8, 6:30-8:30 pm at the church. We will have a dessert to share. Please bring your own beverage. AROUND THE TABLE IN SEPTEMBER
All ladies are invited to attend an Around the Table gathering in September. Sign up sheets will be in the lobby on Sunday, August 23rd, Sunday, August 30th, and at the Women’s Night of Worship, August 23rd. The purpose of Around the Table is to provide fellowship and gospel centered conversation for small groups of 6 women with a brunch, lunch, or dinner meal. In this 14 week Precept Upon Precept study, we will meet the Holy One of Israel and see how God responds to those who claim Him as God yet do not honor Him in the way they live. Together we will observe exactly what Scripture says about Isaiah’s prophecies—from God’s judgment on Judah and Jerusalem to the promise of a coming Messiah—then interpret these passages in the full context of Scripture. As we follow Isaiah’s relationship with God, we will discover truths we can apply personally and gain a deeper understanding of how God ministered to His people during that time. The study covers Isaiah chapters 1–39 and offers a rich opportunity to grow in knowledge, faith, and obedience.

The choir is coming back—and we’d love to have you join us!
There’s something special about making music together. We sing, we laugh, we learn, we worship, and along the way we become a community. Our choir is a community of fun and faith, and we’re always happy to welcome new voices.
You don’t need to be an experienced singer, and there are no auditions! If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to sing in a choir, but I’m not sure I’m good enough,” come give us a try. We’ll be glad to have you. Choir rehearsals are Wednesdays from 6:45–8:00 p.m. Come join us for a rehearsal and see what you think. You might discover that singing with us is exactly where you belong! Rehearsals begin on September 9 and we will sing in our first service of the season on September 20. Come sing. Come laugh. Come be part of our choir family!
