Two key EPC organizations that are the means by which the EPC lives out the Great Commission are World Outreach and ITEN. Renew EPC April 2026 Update:
Greetings from Renew EPC! We have just completed our third year as a worshipping community in Lee’s Summit. We started worship on Easter Sunday 2023 inside of Lee’s Summit Elementary’s cafeteria. We began with about 30 people, but now we are averaging 80 people on Sunday. Our community is a beautiful reflection of the diversity of our downtown Lee’s Summit with people from the full spectrum of socioeconomics, education, life stages, political perspectives, and ethnicities. We believe this diversity is the fruit of being a church that is centered on the good news of Jesus. The gospel brings all people together in Christ.
One of the things that makes us a unique church is that we have a church wide lunch every Sunday, called Sunday Supper. This lunch is a catered, filling meal that is free to everyone who attends. This meal allows people to unhurry their Sunday and enjoy one of the sweetest gifts of the church – gospel community. While we eat, we discuss the sermon and apply it to our lives. The value of this meal cannot be overstated as it has made visitors connect quickly to our church, has deepened relationships, and has fostered community-driven discipleship.
It has been a blessing that we are located in Lee’s Summit Elementary as it has allowed us to pursue our vision of showing the power of the gospel to make all things new through being a good neighbor. The school has several needs and several families who are in a state of crisis. We have been able to serve them through Turkey giveaways, snack drives, and providing volunteers for tutoring. The school has come to love our little church. In March 2026 the school awarded us Volunteer of the Year at the district’s school board meeting. It was so humbling to hear the principal of LSE tell the board all the ways Renew has helped her students and teachers. Indeed, more and more school families have begun to attend our worship service as a result of experiencing Christ’s love through us.
We are very thankful for the support from Gashland through these first three years. Your support advances our mission to help people live in and live out the good news of Jesus Christ. Your support makes possible serving a hot lunch every Sunday, helping fix up houses in need of repair, providing Thanksgiving Turkeys, throwing gospel block parties, celebrating baptisms, teaching the next generation how to defend their faith, sharing the gospel through numerous outreaches, and much more. I hope you will join us some Sunday to see for yourself – we worship at 9:30a. Thank you again!

Resource Health creates a culture of life for every woman who comes to us. She experiences the compassion of Christ through volunteers and staff who help meet her physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Resource Health shares the truth about abortion and empowers her to choose life for her unborn baby through services, counseling and abortion education. We offer every client the opportunity to pray and share the Gospel with those open to hearing. Resource Health also provides some programs for fathers as well.
Hillcrest Transitional Housing offers homeless families, singles and youth a disciplined educational program within a caring, supportive environment. Unlike many organizations whose focus is one-time or emergency care, Hillcrest’s primary objective is to move clients from homelessness to self-sufficiency by addressing the total life situation of the homeless families they serve.
Since 1924, City Union Mission has provided warm beds, nutritious food, and a place for safety for thousands of poverty stricken and homeless men, women, and children. The Mission’s staff has been uncompromising in the commitment to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the hurting and the lost. City Union Mission has full and part-time paid positions available on an ongoing basis. They also have needs of people to partner with them in Ministry in a variety of ways. These require a commitment of from just a few hours to a few days to support seasonal events.
To glorify God by establishing coffee houses in economically depressed areas that make disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action. This mission inspires us to have a quality product that brings value to our communities and a place that is inviting, safe and fosters lasting relationships for the glory of God. Acts of compassion and the good news about Jesus is the common thread of all we do.
